American Bulldog Puppy Scams To Avoid

The American Bulldog puppy market attracts scammers. Below is exactly how Rosebull operates so you can spot a fake claiming our name — or any breeder using these patterns.

  1. 1

If you saw a Rosebull puppy on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, or Kijiji — it is a scam.

We do not advertise on peer-to-peer marketplaces. Our entire pipeline goes through the application form on this website, our own social channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube), and direct referrals.

  2. 2

    No sight-unseen shipping. Ever.

Live video call with the puppy is required before any deposit. The call is also non-negotiable for placement; we use it to confirm a fit on both sides. If a 'breeder' refuses video, walk away.

  3. 3

Deposits via e-transfer, certified cheque, or PayPal goods-and-services only.

We never accept gift cards, crypto, Western Union, MoneyGram, Cash App, or wire transfers to personal bank accounts. Those are the payment methods scammers prefer because they are non-reversible.

  4. 4

Pickup is in-person or escorted Cargojet. Never a third-party 'pet shipper' contacting you out of nowhere.

The most common American Bulldog scam pattern: deposit paid, then a 'shipper' emails you asking for $300 for a 'special heated crate', then $400 for 'insurance', then $500 for 'customs hold'. None of those exist. Real shipping is itemized by the breeder up front and paid to the airline at the gate.

  5. 5

Reverse-image-search any photo before sending money.

Scammers steal photos from real breeders' websites. Do a Google reverse-image-search on every photo you receive. If the photos appear on multiple unrelated kennel sites, the operation is fake.

  6. 6

Verify identity at three independent third parties.

    (1) pedigreedatabase.ca — every Rosebull dog has a profile. (2) abra1st.com — ABRA registry membership. (3) ofa.org / app.embarkvet.com — health test public records. Real breeders welcome the verification request. Scammers redirect or evade.

If something feels off, screenshot the conversation and email us before paying anything.

Common questions

Where does Rosebull NOT advertise?

Rosebull does not advertise on Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree, Kijiji, OfferUp, or any other peer-to-peer marketplace. If you see a listing on those platforms claiming to be Rosebull or selling 'Rosebull-bred' puppies, it is a scam.

Will Rosebull ship a puppy without me seeing it first?

No. Live video call with the puppy is required before any deposit. We will not ship a puppy to anyone we have not video-called. This is the single most reliable way to filter scammers.

What payment methods does Rosebull accept?

E-transfer, certified cheque, or PayPal goods-and-services. We do NOT accept gift cards, crypto, Western Union, MoneyGram, Cash App, or wire transfers to personal bank accounts. If a 'breeder' insists on those, walk away.

What about third-party 'pet shippers' who contact me?

Red flag. Real shipping (Cargojet) is arranged BY the breeder, not by an unrelated third party who contacts you out of nowhere asking for money for crates, vaccines, insurance, or customs. That is the most common American Bulldog scam pattern. Rosebull arranges shipping ourselves and itemizes costs at receipt.

How do I verify a Rosebull breeder claim is real?

Three checks: (1) the breeder profile on pedigreedatabase.ca, (2) ABRA membership at abra1st.com, (3) ask for current breeding-dog OFA + Embark links and verify those records on ofa.org and app.embarkvet.com directly. We are happy to provide all three.
